
PIETRO BONELLI
He began his classical studies when he was
sven years old by taking private lessons
from master Giacchetta in Milan. In the
late eighties, he specialized in finger
picking becoming a prominent concert performer.
In 1982 he became more and more interested in
jazz music; he took lessons from Ugo Meletti
(an important sideman on the Milan scene).
He then obtained his diploma in "functional
harmonies" and "improvisational jazz tecniques"
fom the C.D.M. of Milan, held by Filippo Dacco.
He is presently teaching modern guitar and jazz
at the "F.Vittadini Institute" in Pavia. He Also
collaborates freelance in various musical insti-
tutions of Milan and Paris. Since 1996 he has been
the leader of the Pietro Bonelli Quintet, a latin
jazz group with whom he has performed in many
concerts. In 1999, he recorded under his name a
CD produced by Rima Records. He then followed the
artistic programs of vatious clubs of nothern Italy.
He has collaborated with: Giacomo Lampugnani,
Stefano Resca, Maurizio Sigorino, Andrea Chiodi,
Piero Orsini, Giacomo Trigali, Roberto Re, Fabrizio
Poggi, Daniele Pietrosillo, Stefano Bertolotti,
Marco Detto, Alberto Bonacasa, Ezio Salfa, Karin
Mensah, Riccardo Bianchi.
