
MARCO TAMBURINI
Cesena (FO) 30/05/1959
Diploma in trumpet obtained in 1979 at the "G.B Martini"
Conservatory of Bologna. He starts his activity as
a professional jazz player in 1984. He plays at various
festivals as: Umbria Jazz, Jazz Festival in Rome,
SienaJazz, Ivrea Eurofestival, Jazz Wochen in Basilea,
N.C.International Jazz Festival of Durham, North Carolina -
con Paul Jeffrey, John Hicks, Michael Carvin - in clubs
and theaters in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal,
Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Holland, Jugoslavia, Sweden,
Great Britain, Greece, Usa, Argentina, Cile, Cuba.
He appears in in varius National and International TV an
radio programs (Radiouno Jazz, DOC, Lugano Swiss Radio,
MTV Awards in Rotterdam, MTV London).
He performs and records with: Gianni Basso, Maurizio Caldura,
Pietro Tonolo, Giovanni Tommaso, Gege Telesforo, Paolo Fresu,
Franco Cerri, Enrico Rava, Gianluigi Trovesi, Dado Moroni,
Giorgio Gasl ini, Rachel Gould, Steve Grossman, Slide Hampton,
Eddie Henderson, Curtis Fuller, Sal Nistico, Steve Coleman,
Ray Mantilla, Joe Lovano, Steve Lacy, Louis Heyes, Ben Sidran,
Mingus Big Band. He records two CDs as a leader, the latter,
"Trip of Emotion" (1997), featuring Slide Hampton.
He works as arranger and records for many Italian
pop singers as: Renato Zero, Irene Grandi e Raf, playing in
his tour "Manifesto" in1996. He collaborates with the rap singer
Lorenzo Jovanotti in his C.D. "L'Albero" and as a player in the 1997 Tour.
He is now playing as a leader with is trio and quintet,
and with the Gap Band and Mario Raja Big Band.
He teached at the CPM of Siena Jazz and was professor
of Jazz at the "Morlacchi" Conservatory of Perugia.
He holds master classes at the Siena Clinics (Tuscany
Region - EEC) and at the Jazz Summer Clinics in Siena.
