
STEFANO BENINI
obtained the Diploma at the Conservatory
Of Torino supervisored by AntonMario Semolini.
After the Diploma he dedicated his musical
research to jazz, studying flute away from
the classical frames. He has partecipated to
several jazz festivals, performing with some
of the greatest names of the international jazz scene.
He has obtained many positive reviews.
He has been recording under his name and other
musicians: "Fluteprints" (Splas(h) in '91, "Flute
Connection" in'95, "Ninetysix" in'97 for General
Records, "Walking Flute" in'99 in quartet for
Scatola Sonora Records, in which he rereads some
pages of the flute history. In 2001 he released,
with the great Sam Most, "Flute Madness" for Splas(h).
He has also collaborated with specialized magazines:
Musica Jazz and Ritmo. Nowadays he's editing a column
about flute for FA LA UT Jazz Magazine. Among Stefano
Benini's several issues, we mention the book "Il Flauto
E Il Jazz" for Muzzio Editore, "Jazz SOLOS" for Eridania,
Mantova and some other works dedicated to jazz flute.
At the present he is teaching and performing.
