LUCA NECCIARI born in Montefiascone (VT) in 1978 he is now living in Siena. He begun electric bass at 16 as self-taught, passing on then to doublebass supervisored by M° Franco Fraioli. in the summer of 1996 he attended the international workshops in Montefiascone given by Franco Fraioli. In 1997 he moved to Siena where he has been attending the musical institute Rinaldo Franci studying classical doublebass for 4 years, supervisored by M° A. Granai. In the same year he attended the summer clinics of Siena Jazz with Furio Di Castri and Stefano Zenni. In November he begun attending the improvisation courses of Siena Jazz, studying bass with M° Ferruccio Spinetti(Avion Travel), partecipating to the lessons of ensemble music given by Roberto Manetti and Francesco Petreni. In the summer of 1998 he partecipated to the jazz master of Tirano with Dave Santoro and Guido Manusardi. In 1999 and 2001 he attended the courses of high qualification for trio with Sefano Battaglia, Paolino Dalla Porta and Fabrizio Sferra. Nowadays he is attending a course at the Jazz department, improvisation and contemporary music at the "G. B. Martini" Conservatory of Bologna studying bass with Paolo Ghetti, complementary piano with Vincenzo Corrao, analysis and composition with Alfredo Impulliti, ear-training with Pasquale Morgante, Jazz history with Stefano Zenni and ensemble music with Paolo Birro. In 2000 he was finalist at the "Massimo Urbani National Award" in Urbisaglia. He partecipated even to the summer tour of the singer Nada. In May 2002 he won the Competition "Genova Jazz" with Alessandro Giachero on piano and Massimo Cantini on drums. With the same band in July he obtained the special mention at "Barga Jazz 2002". In November 2002 he won the international competition "Incroci Sonori" in Moncalieri (Torino). He usually performs with various group configurations(trio, quartet), prefering the standard trio with the piano. Nowadays he is collaborating for the singing and improvisation courses given by Fabrizia Barresi at Siena Jazz. He is teaching doublebass and electric bass at the "Scienza e Arte"Music School in Perugia. He is even working on his next CD which will be release on spring 2003.
