
ERWIN VANN
He has studied with S. Coleman, D. Holland,
M. Richard Abrams, K. Wheeler, J. Priester,
D. Liebman and J. Lovano. Since 1985 he has
been regularly working for the belgian radio
and TV broadcast corporation (VRT/RTBF) as
soloist, composer and member of the Orchestra.
He has performed in the most important festivals
in Canada, U.S.A.,Argentina, Irak, Senegal, France,
Italy, Switzerland, Luxenburg, Sweden, Great Britain,
Holland, Germany. He has played and recorded with
musicians such as Toots Thielemans, Aldo Romano,
Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, Paolo Fresu,
Marc Ducret, Karl Berger, Lindsey Horner, Jeff
Williams, Rita Marcotulli, Eric Van Der Westen,
Hein Van De Geyn, Nugyen Lè, Bobby Previte.
In 1990 he formed his own Trio with Michel
Hatzigeorgiou at the Fender bass and Dre Pallemaerts
at the drums, with whom he published two CDs.
In 1991 is Awarded by the specialized Press as
best sax soloist of the year. Erwin Vann received
the "Spes Prize" in 1995 for "World", a project
for big ensamble (guests Kenny Wheeler and Norma
Winstone). Besides the clinics is having in Belgium
and abroad, he is teaching saxophone and armony at
the Conservatory of Luxenburg.
